Gear: Tech Check

Colorado Avid Golfer Magazine
July, 2007

Aside from space-age metal drivers and state-of-the-art irons, golf also has its electronic side. Here are some futuristic gadgets that can upgrade your game.

Problem: Lost balls.

Solution: RadarGolf (radargolf.com)

The Tech: A microchip not much larger than a pencil point is embedded in the core of a two-piece ball. You track errant shots with a handheld device that transmits a radio-frequency signal.

Why You Need It: If you spray it, this will find it.

Cost: $200 for radio receiver and a dozen balls. $40 for the balls alone.
