Laser putters, weed-whacking drivers and luxury golf carts: These high-tech gadgets might help you get a grip on your golf game

BY BUZZ MCCLAIN

You won't be seeing Rory Sabbatini using the RadarGolf System when he tees it up at the Crowne Plaza Invitational today at Colonial Country Club. It's not like he's going to bury a lot of balls in the sand, anyway. But you, on the other hand, need all the help you can get. So we've found some accessories you can add to your golf bag that might help give you an advantage when things get a little "rough" on the links.

Ray of hope

What it does: With the RadarGolf System, each ball in the sleeve has an antenna "painted" inside it (so you don't smash it with your club). When you're on the fairway wondering where the elusive ball landed, you use the hand-held ball detector's audio and visual signals to zero in on the errant shot. It's like a Geiger counter for golf balls.

Price: $199 for the detector, batteries, how-to DVD, shielding pouches (you don't want to mistakenly get signals from the golf balls in your bag) and a dozen balls. Which raises the question: If you never lose them, why a dozen? Where to get it: www.radargolf.com
